We are proud to announce the incomparable Mayte Martín as our featured artist for the "New Mexico True Fiesta de Apertura!” Join us on June 11th at the National Hispanic Cultural Center, Plaza Mayor for Flamenco Clásico. Martín is considered one of the most influential flamenco voices of her generation, we invite you to save the date for this FREE EVENT to kick off our 29th Festival Flamenco Internacional de Albuquerque!!

Flamenco Clásico is a show that began with austerity and married this origin with classicism and innovation, giving new vision to this genre. With a careful selection of the most beautiful and moving lyrics, this concert displays the sonorous filter of subtlety and melodic elegance that characterize Mayte Martín's work. Martín utilizes a strain of classical flamenco practically in disuse, including beautiful lyrics that have never been heard in contemporary voices. With Juan Ramón Caro on the guitar, Flamenco Clásico is a delicate reconstruction that revitalizes the old, enhancing its infinite beauty and respecting its essence.

Presented by New Mexico True and the New Mexico Department of Cultural Affairs.
